Abu Dhabi Unveils AED55 Billion Infrastructure Investment Plans

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Abu Dhabi has introduced a significant AED55 billion public-private partnership (PPP) infrastructure initiative, set to roll out 24 major projects over 2026 and 2027. This endeavor, jointly initiated by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre, aims to bolster the emirate’s long-term infrastructure vision while drawing in investments from both local and international sources.

This comprehensive program stands to offer considerable opportunities for private enterprises to contribute to Abu Dhabi’s infrastructure expansion. The anticipated projects are poised to stimulate economic growth, attract global businesses to establish a presence in Abu Dhabi, and enhance local supply chains as well as industrial sectors.

The newly announced pipeline encompasses various endeavors in transport, infrastructure, and social development.

In the transport arena, Abu Dhabi is set to invest AED35 billion into 11 major road projects. These initiatives will see the construction and upgrading of over 300 kilometers of roads, tunnels, junctions, and improvements aimed at enhancing connectivity throughout the emirate.

Furthermore, AED11 billion is earmarked for five infrastructure endeavors focusing on dams, water storage solutions, flood control systems, stormwater network enhancements, and urban landscaping to promote sustainability and elevate public infrastructure.

The social infrastructure domain will benefit from AED9 billion through eight initiatives encompassing sports facilities, specialized healthcare centers, educational institutions, and university campuses. These projects are crafted to elevate community services and support the long-term livability of Abu Dhabi.

Officials indicated that this pipeline reflects the next phase of Abu Dhabi’s infrastructure delivery approach, founded on robust cooperation with the private sector and meticulously structured project planning.

The announcement precedes the upcoming Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit 2026, where key development initiatives for the emirate will be showcased.
