Vermont-based electric aircraft manufacturer Beta Technologies completed a notable debut on U.S. markets, raising $1.01 billion in its initial public offering on Monday. Shares were set at $34 each, above the earlier $27–$33 range, reflecting solid investor demand.
The sale covered 29.9 million shares, implying a potential market value near $7.44 billion. The company will begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker "BETA". Lead managers on the deal included Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Jefferies and Citigroup.
Electric aviation remains a specialized but fast-evolving sector. Beta develops high-performance electric aircraft, propulsion systems and charging infrastructure, and its platforms have supported U.S. military training and FAA-approved operations.
Despite macro uncertainties and brief disruptions tied to government shutdowns, activity in the U.S. IPO market is recovering, and Beta's offering signals renewed investor interest in transport innovation. Observers caution commercial electric flight is still nascent but say companies like Beta point to greener aviation prospects.
Proceeds from the IPO are expected to fund higher production capacity, faster R&D cycles and broader deployment of electric flight capabilities as the company scales operations.
