Trump Announces Gaza Disarmament Deal Under Peace Plan

Post by : Bianca Haleem

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that his “Board of Peace” has reached an agreement aimed at the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza. The announcement was described by Trump as a major step toward implementing his 20-point Gaza peace plan designed to end the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

Trump shared the announcement through his social media platform, Truth Social, saying the agreement would be implemented through a phased process. According to the plan, Israeli forces would gradually withdraw from Gaza as disarmament progresses.

The proposed framework also includes the deployment of an International Stabilization Force, which would work alongside a newly formed Palestinian police force to maintain security and stability across the Gaza Strip.

Trump thanked key mediators, including Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, for their role in supporting negotiations between the involved parties. He said the agreement could help create a pathway toward a new Palestinian administration that would cooperate with the Board of Peace and focus on improving conditions for civilians in Gaza.

“The agreement is a critical step toward Gaza finally being governed by a new Palestinian government that will work closely with the Board of Peace to help the Palestinian people,” Trump said.

He also emphasized that the deal would address Israel’s security concerns, stating that Israel would receive the security guarantees it has demanded throughout the conflict.

Gaza Peace Talks Show Progress

Earlier on Thursday, discussions between international mediators and Hamas representatives in Cairo reportedly showed progress regarding the implementation of a U.S.-backed Gaza peace proposal.

Sources said the negotiations marked a rare movement toward agreement after months of conflict and diplomatic efforts. However, an Israeli official said that some of the proposed terms were still not acceptable and required further discussion.

The talks involve efforts to establish a long-term solution that includes security arrangements, governance plans, and steps toward rebuilding Gaza after the war.

Israeli Strikes Continue Amid Negotiations

Despite diplomatic developments, violence continued in Gaza. Palestinian medical officials reported that Israeli strikes on Thursday killed at least six Palestinians, including two children.

The ongoing attacks highlight the challenges facing negotiators as they attempt to move from discussions toward an actual ceasefire and peace implementation process.

The success of the Gaza disarmament agreement will depend on several factors, including Hamas’ cooperation, Israel’s response, the role of international forces, and the establishment of a new governance structure in Gaza.

While the announcement has been presented as a significant diplomatic breakthrough, officials on all sides are expected to continue negotiations before the agreement moves into full implementation.
