A ceremonial event took place at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University, marking a significant step in the 'Read Japan' project backed by The Nippon Foundation. This initiative underlines the strengthening educational and cultural links between Turkmenistan and Japan, enabling students and researchers access to important academic materials.
Hiroshi Sasaki, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Turkmenistan, was present at the ceremony, alongside other Embassy of Japan representatives. University officials, faculty members, and students also joined the occasion, showcasing the importance of cross-cultural knowledge sharing and international academic partnerships.
The donation encompassed a diverse array of educational, scientific, and literary works. Topics included Japanese technology, environmental conservation, sustainable development, renewable energy options, and eco-friendly practices. These resources aim to aid research efforts and broaden educational horizons for students in various fields.
In addition to scientific texts, the collection featured dictionaries and volumes focused on Japanese language, culture, literature, and traditional arts. This selection grants students the chance to deepen their appreciation for Japan's rich cultural landscape while bolstering interest in language learning and global studies.
During their visit, Japanese dignitaries were briefed on the academic framework, educational offerings, and scholarly accomplishments of the university. Conversations revolved around enhancing future collaboration through joint initiatives, academic exchanges, and research partnerships, aiming to benefit both educational systems.
University administrators and faculty highlighted the continuous progress of Turkmen-Japanese academic relations in the spheres of science and education. Both parties recognized that modern educational challenges demand robust international collaborations and the sharing of knowledge, innovation, and exemplary practices.
Participants communicated that the Read Japan initiative stands as a significant emblem of friendship between the two nations. The ongoing provision of books to universities throughout Turkmenistan reflects a mutual dedication to cultural comprehension, educational progress, and humanitarian collaboration. This initiative is set to further enhance bilateral relations and cultivate new prospects for students, educators, and researchers moving forward.
