People magazine has chosen English actor Jonathan Bailey as its 2025 "Sexiest Man Alive," an announcement made on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that has drawn international attention to the 37-year-old performer.
Bailey, widely recognised for his portrayal of Lord Anthony Bridgerton on Netflix's Bridgerton, said he felt both honoured and amused by the distinction. He quipped that the only being he had confided in so far about the news was his dog, Benson.
The actor is gearing up to return to cinemas in the musical sequel Wicked: For Good, where he will again play Prince Fiyero after appearing in the franchise's 2024 prequel. This year he also branched into action with a role in the summer release Jurassic World: Rebirth.
The annual Sexiest Man Alive cover from People is a longstanding pop-culture highlight. Previous recipients include stars such as Idris Elba, Adam Levine, Channing Tatum and Chris Hemsworth, while John Krasinski held the title in 2024.
With credits across theatre, television and film, Bailey's expanding body of work and charismatic screen presence have helped elevate his international profile, earning attention for both his performances and public appeal.
