The Khalifa Port Data Centre, operated by AD Ports Group, has reached an important global milestone by becoming the first facility in the trade and logistics sector to obtain the Tier IV Certification of Constructed Facility from the Uptime Institute, the foremost level of accreditation in data centers.
This certification highlights AD Ports Group’s dedication to advancing digital transformation, operational resilience, and technological innovation throughout its international operations. Tier IV accreditation is designated for data centers that are entirely fault-tolerant, allowing them to function continuously without disruption, even amid unexpected outages or system failures.
Situated at Khalifa Port, this Tier IV-certified facility is integral to AD Ports Group’s hybrid cloud ecosystem, facilitating mission-critical operations in over 50 countries. Designed for top-tier reliability, it provides 99.995% availability, offering complete redundancy across power supply, cooling, and network systems. The center processes over 150 million digital transactions annually, ensuring consistent, secure, and high-performance services for global supply chains.
Mohamed Jamal-Eddine, Group Chief Information Officer at AD Ports Group, stated that this milestone underscores the organization’s leadership in digitalizing international trade. He emphasized that the Tier IV-certified facility is not merely a technical feat but a strategic foundation that enables the secure implementation of advanced technologies like artificial intelligence, IoT applications, blockchain solutions, and Low Earth Orbit satellite connectivity, enhancing business continuity and promoting efficient, transparent, and sustainable logistics.
Martin McCarthy, Chief Executive Officer of the Uptime Institute, commended AD Ports Group for adhering to stringent standards for Tier IV certification. He remarked that this achievement reflects remarkable technical skills and a strong commitment to operational excellence, establishing a new global benchmark for reliability, security, and uninterrupted service within the trade and logistics industry.
AD Ports Group is actively employing its Tier IV-certified data center to drive innovation in its maritime and logistics sectors. The facility supports advanced AI-driven initiatives and acts as a main hub for real-time data produced by the group’s new LEO satellite services, facilitating continuous oversight and enhancement of its 270-vessel global fleet. This digital foundation enables AD Ports Group to deliver smarter, more integrated, and future-ready supply chain solutions worldwide.
