Post by : Bianca Haleem

Guangzhou, China, July 10, 2026: LEPAS, a dynamic new energy vehicle (NEV) brand from Chery Group, has commenced the delivery process of its inaugural shipment of LEPAS L8 PHEV vehicles to the Middle Eastern region. The ceremonial shipment took place at Guangzhou Nansha Port, with these vehicles en route to key markets such as the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.

This initial delivery signifies the start of LEPAS's global "Year of Delivery" and highlights a pivotal development in the brand's ambition for international growth.

Anticipated Middle East Brand Launch

With the shipping process underway, LEPAS is gearing up for its official brand introduction in the Middle East. The forthcoming launch event will showcase its regional strategies and the variety of products tailored for Middle Eastern consumers.

This initiative is a clear indication of LEPAS's strategy to establish itself in a rapidly growing market for electric and hybrid vehicles.

Increasing Interest in New Energy Vehicles

Countries within the Gulf region, including the UAE and Kuwait, are implementing policies to foster the adoption of new energy vehicles, including enhancing charging infrastructure and providing consumer incentives like reduced taxes on purchases.

As the trend of electrification accelerates in the region, LEPAS aims to enhance its market positioning by launching a focused lineup of new energy vehicles designed specifically for Middle Eastern clients.

Additional Models on the Horizon

The LEPAS L8 PHEV is just the first model being introduced in the Middle East. Future plans include rolling out the L6 EV, L4 EV, and L6 PHEV to this market.

Moreover, LEPAS is continuously advancing its intelligent driving technologies. Following its current intelligent parking system, the company is set to unveil its upgraded Super Intelligent Valet Parking (SIVP) system in the region later this year.

Comfort and Performance with LEPAS L8 PHEV

The LEPAS L8 PHEV offers a spacious five-seat SUV experience, designed to combine stylish aesthetics with everyday comfort. It is constructed on the Intelligent LEX Platform and showcases the brand’s Leopard Aesthetics design philosophy, featuring fluid body lines and a striking front fascia.

Its impressive 2,800mm wheelbase ensures a roomy interior and includes UV-insulated glass and an intelligent climate control system that can drop the cabin temperature by 32°C in just five minutes—ideal for the region’s heat.

Extended Driving Range with Hybrid Technology

Powered by the LEPAS Super Hybrid system, the L8 PHEV boasts an extensive driving range beyond 1,300 kilometers and achieves a combined fuel consumption of just 2.38 liters per 100 kilometers.

This model is tailored to meet both urban commuting needs and longer travels, seamlessly blending efficiency with robust performance.

Elegant Mobility Brand Vision

Operating under the slogan "Drive Your Elegance," LEPAS aspires to be the top choice for customers seeking elegant mobility options.

The foundation of its product evolution revolves around three key elements:

  • Leopard Aesthetics
  • Elegant Technology
  • Exquisite Space

These guiding principles aim to deliver a unique collection of new energy vehicles that enhance the customer experience of elegant mobility.

Ongoing Global Growth Strategy

In 2026, branded as the "Year of Delivery," LEPAS is actively pursuing its international ambitions across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. The company intends to customize its products and services to fulfill the specific mobility requirements of each market.

Looking into the future, LEPAS remains committed to Chery Group’s global development ethos of "In somewhere, For somewhere, Be somewhere," as they work towards more localized operations to broaden their customer reach worldwide.
