Qatar's Abdulaziz Al Sulaiti Takes Leading Role in UN Sixth Committee

In a significant achievement for Qatar, Abdulaziz Fadhalah Al Sulaiti, who serves as the Second Secretary at Qatar's Permanent Mission to the UN in New York, has been appointed as the Rapporteur of the Sixth Committee of the UN General Assembly for its upcoming 81st session.

This committee, which oversees legal matters at the UN, plays a vital role in the development and codification of international law. The 81st session is set to kick off in October 2026.

Al Sulaiti's election underscores the global trust in Qatar's evolving position within the UN and its proactive role in multilateral diplomacy. It also signals acknowledgment of Qatar's significant contributions to UN committees and its dedication to fostering international legal collaboration.

This appointment highlights the international community's recognition of Qatar's expertise and its positive engagement in global discussions focused on legal and international issues.
