Ukrainian forces carried out strikes on key logistics hubs and energy infrastructure inside Russia on July 31, targeting facilities linked to supply chains and resources supporting Moscow’s military operations.
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the operations focused on disrupting Russia’s ability to store and transport materials used in the ongoing war. He said Ukrainian forces have hit 18 warehouses across different locations within 13 days, causing significant losses to stored equipment and supplies.
The reported strikes targeted Wildberries and Ozon warehouses in Volgograd, Kazan, and Zelenodolsk, along with a Lukoil refinery and other infrastructure sites in the Krasnodar region.
Fires Reported After Overnight Strikes
Videos shared by residents on social media showed large fires and explosions during the overnight attacks. The footage reportedly captured flames spreading across affected areas, creating panic among local communities.

Russian officials confirmed that the strikes caused damage in some areas. Authorities in Volgograd reported that five people were injured, while officials said no warehouse employees were killed in the attack.
Ukraine Says Strikes Aim to Reduce Russia’s War Capacity
Zelenskyy stated that the strikes are part of Ukraine’s broader strategy to target locations that contribute to Russia’s military operations. Ukrainian officials have repeatedly said that attacks on logistics and energy facilities are aimed at reducing Moscow’s ability to maintain its frontline activities.
The latest strikes come as both sides continue long-range attacks against strategic targets, increasing pressure on infrastructure far from the main battle zones.
Russia Investigates Damage After Attacks
Russian authorities are assessing the extent of damage to warehouses and industrial facilities following the attacks. Emergency teams were deployed to control fires and inspect affected areas.
The developments highlight the growing role of long-range drone operations in the Russia-Ukraine war, with both countries targeting critical infrastructure beyond the immediate battlefield.
