Abu Dhabi Launches AI-Powered Programme for Policy Leaders

The Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE) has introduced a new AI-powered Policy Development Programme to strengthen leadership and policy-making skills across the Abu Dhabi Government. The executive programme is designed for Executive Directors and equivalent senior government leaders who are directly involved in policy design, implementation, and oversight.

To deliver the programme, DGE has partnered with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), a globally recognised policy institute. The collaboration aims to equip senior government officials with advanced policy development capabilities that support better governance and long-term institutional performance.

Programme Focuses on Stronger Policy Development

The AI-powered programme is designed to improve the quality of public policy by helping executive leaders develop practical and strategic policy-making skills. Participants will learn how to turn knowledge into measurable institutional outcomes while improving the effectiveness of government services.

By strengthening policy development capabilities across the public sector, the programme supports improved decision-making, stronger policy implementation, better evaluation processes, and greater coordination between government entities. These improvements are intended to deliver better outcomes for citizens, residents, and businesses across Abu Dhabi.

A key part of the programme is an intensive learning module in Singapore, where participants will receive international exposure through practical and interactive learning experiences.

The module includes workshops, lectures, learning journeys, group projects, and sessions with guest speakers. It focuses on areas such as impact assessment, behavioural insights, policy communication, monitoring and evaluation, transformational governance, Smart Nation Singapore, and the use of artificial intelligence in government transformation.
