ADREA to Open in Abu Dhabi Showcasing Global Horse Traditions

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Abu Dhabi is set to open the Abu Dhabi Royal Equestrian Arts (ADREA) on 1 November 2025. Spanning 65,000 square metres on Jubail Island, ADREA aims to become the region’s leading hub for classical horsemanship. The centre will combine European equestrian traditions with Emirati cultural heritage, offering a unique experience for horse enthusiasts.

Grand Gala to Mark the Opening

The launch will feature a two-day gala on 1-2 November, inviting the public to witness an exceptional showcase of equestrian skills. The event will bring together the world’s most famous classical riding schools on one stage, presenting a historic opportunity to experience equestrian artistry up close.

International Equestrian Schools to Participate

Visitors will see performances from the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, known for its Lipizzaner stallions; the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Arts, famous for Andalusian dancing horses; the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art, showcasing Lusitano horses; and France’s Cadre Noir De Saumur, blending high-level horsemanship with performing arts. ADREA will also debut its own ensemble, integrating UAE culture with classical equestrian traditions.

Immersive Cultural and Learning Experience

The gala offers more than just performances. Guests will access ADREA’s all-equestrian library with rare and original works, attend interactive talks, and enjoy bespoke food and beverage offerings. The centre aims to provide a fully immersive experience, blending cultural education with the art of horsemanship.

Positioning Abu Dhabi on the Global Equestrian Map

This landmark initiative places Abu Dhabi alongside historic European equestrian institutions. ADREA highlights the UAE’s commitment to preserving and promoting global heritage in classical horsemanship, while establishing the nation as a key destination for equestrian arts.

Emphasis on Cultural Fusion and Heritage

By integrating Emirati heritage with centuries-old European riding traditions, ADREA creates a unique platform for cultural exchange. The centre showcases the UAE’s dedication to promoting arts and culture while offering world-class equestrian training and performances.

A New Era for Horse Lovers and Tourism

The opening of ADREA is expected to attract international visitors and equestrian enthusiasts, strengthening Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a cultural and sporting destination. The centre reflects the UAE’s vision for combining heritage, art, and tourism, contributing to the nation’s cultural and economic development.

ADREA’s Future Impact

In addition to performances and exhibitions, ADREA will host workshops, lectures, and training sessions to cultivate future equestrian talent. The centre aims to inspire a new generation of riders while enhancing appreciation for classical horsemanship globally.

A Historic Step for the UAE

ADREA represents a milestone for Abu Dhabi, combining global traditions with local culture. The Royal Equestrian Arts Centre promises to be a world-class destination for education, performance, and cultural exchange in classical horsemanship.
