By the end of September, thirty-two Cambodian companies were actively registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, including eight new firms that joined during the first nine months of this year, said Salem AlShamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers.
Speaking during the “Doing Business with Cambodia” forum, AlShamsi explained that this increase reflects the strong investment potential between Dubai and Cambodia. He added that the Chamber is committed to raising these numbers further to strengthen sustainable economic partnerships between the two nations.
AlShamsi highlighted that Cambodia’s interest in signing new agreements with Dubai-based companies shows the strength of bilateral ties and a shared goal of expanding economic cooperation. He emphasized that the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Cambodia has opened new opportunities for trade and investment, helping drive higher commercial activity and capital flows.
Non-oil trade between Dubai and Cambodia exceeded US$394 million in 2024, creating a solid base for further growth and collaboration. AlShamsi noted that Dubai serves as a strategic hub for Cambodian firms seeking international expansion. The city provides access to high-growth markets across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, supported by advanced infrastructure, global logistics networks, and a business-friendly environment.
The “Doing Business in Cambodia” forum was part of a Dubai Chamber trade mission. It brought together a delegation of 16 Emirati business leaders from various sectors under the Chamber’s “New Horizons” programme. This initiative helps Dubai companies explore opportunities in high-potential international markets and strengthen ties with emerging economies.
AlShamsi concluded that the growing presence of Cambodian companies in Dubai demonstrates the mutual benefits of closer economic relations. He also expressed optimism that the numbers will continue to grow as more companies leverage Dubai’s strategic location and infrastructure to expand their global footprint.
This development underscores Dubai’s role as a key regional business hub and highlights Cambodia as an important partner for investment and trade. The increasing number of companies joining the Dubai Chamber reflects a strong confidence in the city’s business environment and its ability to facilitate international growth.
