The 14th International Government Communication Forum, known as IGCF 2025, officially began at Expo Centre Sharjah. It is organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau. The theme of this year’s forum is “Communication for Quality of Life.” This means the discussions focus on how communication can help improve people’s daily lives in different ways. The event has become one of the most important platforms in the region for government officials, global leaders, academics, and innovators to share ideas.
Purpose Of The Forum
The main purpose of IGCF 2025 is to bring together leaders, experts, and thinkers to discuss global issues that affect the quality of life. Topics like food security, public health, education, sustainability, and the green economy are all part of the program. The idea is to create solutions that governments and communities can use to improve life for people in different parts of the world.
Number Of Participants
This year’s forum is very large, with 237 international speakers. These speakers include government leaders, well-known academics, experts in different fields, and innovators who bring new ideas. Their wide range of experiences ensures that the forum includes different viewpoints and practical solutions. The event also involves more than 110 activities, making it one of the biggest forums of its kind.
Wide Range Of Events
IGCF 2025 includes many types of events. There are 51 panel discussions where groups of experts talk about specific topics. There are also seven inspirational talks from leaders who share their personal experiences and visions. In addition, 22 workshops are arranged where participants can learn skills and strategies directly from specialists. These events take place on 22 interactive platforms across the Expo Centre.
Collaboration With Organisations
The forum works in partnership with 30 local, regional, and international organisations. These partnerships ensure that the forum’s discussions are not just theoretical but also connected to real-world action. The organisations represent different sectors, including media, education, environment, and public policy, which enrich the discussions and expand the impact of the outcomes.
Focus On Food Security
One of the major issues discussed at IGCF 2025 is food security. Many countries around the world face challenges in producing or accessing enough food for their people. Experts at the forum talk about sustainable farming, reducing food waste, and using technology to improve food production. These discussions are meant to help governments prepare for future food needs.
Health And Well-Being
Public health is another big topic at the forum. Speakers talk about how governments can better prepare for health challenges, improve hospitals, and promote healthy lifestyles. Lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic are also part of the discussions, as the world continues to learn about the importance of strong health systems.
Education And Knowledge
Education is central to improving quality of life, and the forum highlights this. Experts discuss how schools and universities can prepare young people for future challenges. They talk about digital education, equal opportunities for all, and the role of governments in ensuring high-quality learning. The goal is to make sure education contributes to building stronger societies.
Environment And Green Economy
The forum also gives strong attention to environmental sustainability. With climate change being a global challenge, the talks focus on renewable energy, reducing pollution, and encouraging eco-friendly practices. The idea of the green economy, which combines economic growth with environmental protection, is also explained as an important path for the future.
Role Of Communication
The central theme of IGCF 2025 is communication, which connects all the issues together. Experts explain that communication is not only about media or information but also about how governments talk with their people and listen to them. Good communication builds trust, creates transparency, and helps governments and communities work together to solve problems.
Inspirational Talks
The seven inspirational talks at IGCF 2025 bring a personal touch to the forum. Leaders and thinkers share their own experiences of overcoming challenges and making positive changes. These talks motivate participants and show how ideas can be turned into real action. They also highlight the importance of leadership in difficult times.
Interactive Workshops
The 22 workshops are designed to be practical. Participants learn directly from specialists about communication strategies, project management, and innovative approaches. These workshops give attendees tools they can take back to their own organisations and use to make improvements.
Global Collaboration
IGCF 2025 shows the importance of global cooperation. The problems discussed, such as food shortages, health risks, and climate change, affect many countries. No single nation can solve them alone. By bringing experts together in Sharjah, the forum encourages countries to share solutions and support each other.
Sharjah’s Role
By hosting IGCF 2025, Sharjah strengthens its role as a hub for dialogue and knowledge exchange. The emirate has become known for creating platforms where people from different parts of the world can meet and share ideas. The event also highlights Sharjah’s commitment to improving life for people both locally and internationally.
Long-Term Impact
Although IGCF 2025 lasts for only two days, its impact is expected to last much longer. The discussions, recommendations, and connections made during the forum can influence government policies, inspire new projects, and create partnerships. The ultimate goal is to improve quality of life not only in Sharjah but around the world.
Building A Better Future
The overall message of IGCF 2025 is that communication is a key tool for building a better future. By sharing knowledge, listening to people, and working together, governments and communities can solve big challenges. Whether it is health, education, environment, or food, communication makes progress possible.
A Platform For Innovation
The forum also celebrates innovation. Many of the speakers are innovators who bring fresh ideas and creative solutions to old problems. By including innovators, the forum ensures that the discussions are not only about policies but also about new ways of thinking.
