Iran World Cup Squad Arrives in Türkiye Amid U.S. Visa Uncertainty

Iran’s national football team has arrived in Türkiye for a pre-World Cup training camp as preparations continue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. But Team Melli’s journey remains uncertain, with reports saying the squad is still waiting for U.S. visas before travelling to tournament venues.

Because Iran and the U.S. do not have direct diplomatic relations, visa processing is being handled through Türkiye. FIFA officials have said they remain optimistic that Iran will be able to participate, even as travel and political tensions add pressure before the tournament.
