Actor Vineet Kumar Singh, known for films like Mukkabaaz and Chhaava, has safely reached Mumbai after getting briefly stuck at Dubai Airport due to sudden airspace restrictions in the Middle East.
Vineet landed in Mumbai around 3:45 AM IST on Tuesday. His flight was delayed on Monday night after several Gulf countries, including the UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain, closed their airspace because of rising tensions in the region.
“We Had No Idea What Was Happening,” Says Vineet
While talking to News18, Vineet shared his experience of the confusion at the airport. “We were clueless around 10:00 PM,” he said. His flight was originally scheduled to take off at 9:40 PM Dubai time but got delayed due to the emergency.
Earlier that evening, Vineet posted an update on his Instagram Story around 9:23 PM Dubai time, saying:
“I am at Dubai Airport. 9:23 PM Dubai Time. Immigration done. Waiting at the gate for my flight. Fingers crossed.”
Luckily, things improved soon. “Then we got the news that boarding had started. The flight took off a little late, but everything went fine,” he added. Vineet also praised the Emirates Airlines and Dubai airport staff for handling the situation calmly and helping passengers during the crisis.
Middle East Airspace Closures Affect Flights
The airspace restrictions were put in place after Iran launched missile attacks on U.S. military bases in Iraq and Qatar, in response to earlier attacks on its nuclear facilities. This led to serious disruption in flights across the Gulf region, especially from Dubai.
Airlines like Emirates and flydubai paused their flights to high-risk areas. Emirates also announced it would not fly to cities like Baghdad, Basra, and Tehran until June 30.
Dubai Airports released a travel advisory asking passengers to prepare for possible flight delays, cancellations, or diversions at both Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International (DWC) airports.
Even with all the chaos, Vineet Kumar Singh’s journey ended safely, and he is now back in Mumbai after a stressful night in Dubai.
