The Abu Dhabi Sports Council has announced a new golf event called the “Into the Night Golf Series.” This series will give golf players a special experience of playing under lights at some of Abu Dhabi’s top golf courses. The event is scheduled to take place in October and promises an exciting opportunity for golf enthusiasts of all levels.
The series highlights Abu Dhabi’s focus on promoting sports and creating innovative ways for players to enjoy their favorite games. By hosting competitions in the evening, participants can enjoy a unique and memorable golfing experience in a safe and professional environment.
Schedule and Venues of the Series
The Into the Night Golf Series will take place over three consecutive weeks, with each round starting at 4:30 pm in a shotgun format. The first round will be held on 4th October at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club. The second round is scheduled for 11th October at Abu Dhabi City Golf Club, and the series will conclude on 18th October at Yas Acres Golf & Country Club.
This schedule allows players to participate at different courses and experience the unique features of each location. Hosting the event across multiple venues also provides more players with the opportunity to join the series and enjoy high-quality golfing facilities.
Support for Golf Development
Talal Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said the Into the Night Golf Series reflects the council’s commitment to developing golf in the UAE. The initiative aims to expand the number of players at all levels, including juniors, amateurs, and adults.
Al Hashemi emphasized that this event also supports athletes on their journey toward international recognition. With golf gaining popularity in the UAE, the series is a timely initiative that encourages community participation and nurtures talent.
Tournament Format and Participation
The series will be played in a Stableford format across 18 holes. The competition is open to players of all ages and categories, including men, women, and juniors. This inclusive approach ensures that everyone, from beginners to experienced golfers, can take part and enjoy the series.
Winners of the series will receive special opportunities. For example, they may get a chance to participate in the Pro-Am rounds of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, one of the premier golfing events in the region. These rewards provide motivation for players and give them exposure to international-level competitions.
Junior Participation and Future Falcons Programme
The Into the Night Golf Series will also focus on developing junior players. As part of the “Future Falcon” programme, in collaboration with the Emirates Golf Federation, special activities will be organized for younger participants.
These programs are designed to help junior golfers improve their skills, learn sportsmanship, and gain experience in competitive environments. By investing in the youth, the council aims to strengthen the future of golf in the UAE and encourage long-term participation in the sport.
Qualifiers and Finals
Qualifiers for the series will take place at the three participating golf clubs. Players will compete in these preliminary rounds to earn a place in the finals. The final round will be held at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship at Yas Links Golf Club from 6th to 9th November.
This structure ensures a competitive environment where the best players advance to the finals. It also adds excitement and anticipation for participants and spectators alike, as the final round will feature top players competing for recognition and awards.
Expanding Golf’s Popularity in UAE
The Into the Night Golf Series is part of a larger effort to expand the popularity of golf in the UAE. Evening tournaments like this one make golf more accessible and appealing to the general public. The initiative also encourages community involvement and provides opportunities for players to showcase their skills on a bigger stage.
By combining professional-level organization with fun and innovative formats, the series is expected to attract new participants and increase interest in golf across all age groups.
Promoting Sports and Healthy Lifestyle
The Abu Dhabi Sports Council aims to use events like this to promote sports and a healthy lifestyle. Golf is not only a competitive sport but also a way for people to stay active, enjoy nature, and socialize with other players. By offering evening events, the council makes it easier for people with busy schedules to participate.
The series demonstrates how sports authorities in Abu Dhabi are committed to making sports inclusive and exciting for the entire community. It also reinforces the city’s position as a hub for high-quality sports events in the region.
Opportunities for Recognition and Growth
The Into the Night Golf Series provides participants with more than just a chance to play. Winners and high-performing players can gain recognition at national and international levels. Opportunities to join prestigious tournaments like the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship help them develop their careers and achieve higher levels of competition.
For juniors and emerging players, these experiences are valuable in learning about professional-level sports, understanding tournament dynamics, and improving confidence. This initiative is likely to inspire more young players to take golf seriously and aim for professional success.
The Abu Dhabi Sports Council’s launch of the Into the Night Golf Series is a step forward in promoting golf and sports in general in the UAE. With three weeks of competitions across top golf courses, participation for all ages, and special opportunities for juniors, the series is set to attract attention from golf enthusiasts and the wider community.
By combining fun, skill development, and competitive opportunities, the series encourages players to enjoy golf while building their abilities. With evening matches under the lights, players will experience a unique and memorable way to play the sport. The final round at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship will highlight the best performers and provide them with recognition and opportunities to advance in their golfing careers.
