Flydubai Launches New Flights To Nairobi & Expands Kenya Service

Post by : Mumtaaz Qadiri

Flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, has announced it will launch new flights to Nairobi International Airport (NBO) in Kenya starting from 15th October 2025. These flights will operate from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB) with four flights per week. The addition of Nairobi as a destination strengthens the airline’s network in Africa and provides more options for travelers between Kenya and Dubai.

This new service is expected to benefit both business and leisure travelers. Nairobi, being the capital city of Kenya, is an important hub for business, trade, and tourism. With a direct connection from Dubai, travelers can now reach Kenya’s capital more easily and comfortably. Flydubai’s modern fleet and convenient schedules aim to make the journey smooth and reliable.

Expanded Service To Mombasa

In addition to the Nairobi flights, flydubai is increasing its operations to Mombasa, Kenya’s coastal city. Starting from 1st October 2025, the airline will operate daily flights to Mombasa, making it easier for tourists and business travelers to reach the city. With this expansion, flydubai’s total weekly flights to Kenya will reach 11, combining the new Nairobi service and the existing Mombasa flights.

Mombasa is a popular tourist destination known for its beaches, historical sites, and vibrant culture. Daily flights will allow travelers to plan trips more flexibly and encourage tourism growth in the coastal region. For Kenyan businesses, these additional flights improve connectivity with Dubai, which is a major hub for trade and international travel.

Benefits For Travelers And Businesses

The new flights will provide significant benefits for both individuals and businesses. Tourists will have easier access to Kenya’s cities, including the capital Nairobi and the coastal city of Mombasa. Business travelers will also find the flights convenient for meetings, trade discussions, and business trips between Kenya and Dubai.

With Dubai being a global aviation hub, these flights will also enable travelers from Kenya to connect to other destinations worldwide. This improved connectivity is expected to boost tourism, promote cultural exchanges, and create new economic opportunities for both countries.

Strengthening Kenya-UAE Relations

Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, commented on the new flights, highlighting their importance in connecting Kenya with Dubai. He said the airline aims to enhance trade, travel, and tourism between the two countries. These new routes are not just about convenience; they also play a role in strengthening economic and cultural ties between Kenya and the UAE.

Dubai serves as a gateway to global trade and travel, and direct flights to Kenya make it easier for goods, services, and people to move between the two countries. For businesses in Kenya, especially those involved in trade and exports, these flights provide faster and more efficient access to international markets.

Promoting Tourism Between Dubai And Kenya

Tourism is a key focus of flydubai’s new flight plans. Kenya is known for its wildlife safaris, beaches, and cultural heritage, while Dubai attracts visitors with its modern attractions, shopping, and business opportunities. By increasing the number of flights, flydubai is encouraging more tourists to explore both destinations.

The Nairobi flights will allow travelers to experience Kenya’s capital, including its business districts, museums, and cultural sites. The daily Mombasa flights provide access to coastal attractions, resorts, and historical landmarks. This connectivity helps create new tourism packages and makes travel between the UAE and Kenya more appealing for international visitors.

Flydubai’s Commitment To Connectivity

Flydubai has long focused on connecting emerging markets to its network in Dubai. By adding Nairobi to its destinations and increasing flights to Mombasa, the airline continues this commitment. It aims to provide affordable, reliable, and convenient air travel while supporting economic growth in the regions it serves.

Ghaith Al Ghaith emphasized that flydubai is committed to playing a role in improving links between Africa and the UAE. The airline’s services are designed to support business growth, tourism, and cultural exchange. These efforts align with Dubai’s position as a global aviation and business hub.

Supporting Economic Growth And Trade

The new flights also contribute to economic development. Nairobi is Kenya’s economic center, and direct flights from Dubai improve access for international investors, businesses, and entrepreneurs. Companies in Kenya can now reach Dubai more easily to explore trade opportunities, attend exhibitions, and collaborate with international partners.

Similarly, Dubai-based businesses benefit from better access to the Kenyan market. This strengthens bilateral trade and encourages investment between the two countries. Improved air connectivity is a key factor in promoting business growth and regional economic integration.

Impact On Cultural Exchange

Air connectivity also supports cultural exchange. More flights between Dubai and Kenya make it easier for students, artists, and professionals to visit each other’s countries. This strengthens understanding, builds long-term relationships, and enhances cooperation in education, arts, and tourism.

By increasing the frequency of flights, flydubai ensures that travelers can plan visits according to their schedules. This flexibility is important for cultural programs, international conferences, and other exchange initiatives.

Flydubai Fleet And Services

Flydubai operates a modern fleet of aircraft that offer comfort, reliability, and efficiency. Passengers on the new Nairobi and Mombasa flights can expect high-quality services, including convenient check-in, in-flight services, and luggage handling.

The airline has designed its schedules to provide maximum convenience, allowing travelers to connect easily to other destinations. This approach strengthens Dubai’s role as a central hub for international travel.

Future Plans For Expansion

Flydubai continues to explore new opportunities in Africa and other regions. The Nairobi launch and increased Mombasa flights are part of a broader strategy to expand services and improve connectivity. Future plans may include additional routes to other African cities, further strengthening Dubai’s position as a gateway for global travel.

The airline’s expansion also aligns with regional development goals. Improved air connectivity supports tourism, trade, and cultural cooperation, benefiting both the UAE and the countries it connects with.

Flydubai’s new flights to Nairobi and increased service to Mombasa mark an important step in improving air travel between Kenya and Dubai. The move supports tourism, trade, and cultural ties, while providing convenience and flexibility for travelers. With these new services, the airline reinforces Dubai’s role as a global hub and strengthens Kenya-UAE relations.
