Singer Katy Perry and former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau were photographed holding hands during a weekend outing in Paris, fuelling renewed speculation about a personal relationship between the two.
TMZ published exclusive images and video showing the pair walking together and later getting into a vehicle. In the footage, Trudeau, 53, is seen assisting the 41-year-old artist into the back seat as photographers captured the moment, which quickly circulated on social media.
Neither Perry nor Trudeau have issued a public statement about the encounter. Observers noted the timing coincided with Perry's 41st birthday, intensifying suggestions that their connection may have become more than friendly.
Reports of a connection emerged earlier this year after Trudeau attended one of Perry's concerts, where friendly interaction backstage attracted attention. Since then, sources and witnesses say the two have been spotted at several private events, often arriving separately but departing together.
Representatives for Perry and Trudeau's offices have declined to comment on the situation, leaving media and fans to interpret the photographs and video.
At a recent London performance, Perry made a light-hearted remark when a fan proposed onstage, saying, "I wish you'd asked me 48 hours ago," a quip some interpreted as a playful nod to the recent images.
Perry, known for hits including Roar, Firework and Teenage Dream, has been a prominent figure in pop music for years. Earlier this year she ended a long-term relationship with actor Orlando Bloom; the couple share a daughter and described their separation as amicable. Perry was previously married to comedian Russell Brand.
Trudeau led Canada as prime minister from 2015 until 2025 and announced his separation from Sophie Grégoire Trudeau in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. The former couple share three children and have emphasised respect and co-parenting following their split.
Since stepping down, Trudeau has kept a relatively low public profile, appearing intermittently at international forums and humanitarian events. This Paris sighting is the first widely publicised personal link reported since his separation.
The photographs prompted a strong social media response, with users expressing surprise and curiosity. Hashtags such as #KatyTrudeau and #ParisCouple trended as people reacted to the pairing.
Sources close to both individuals have suggested shared interests in music, philanthropy and social causes may have brought them into closer contact. Both Perry and Trudeau have a history of involvement in humanitarian work.
Although no official confirmation has been released, the relaxed manner in the images suggested the two were comfortable in each other's company and not attempting to hide their presence.
The Paris outing has been interpreted by some as the start of a new chapter for both. Observers say it represents a public moment of interest for Perry amid personal transitions, and a different kind of public visibility for Trudeau. Confirmation may come later, but for now the photographs are driving discussion.
