Abu Dhabi, Cisco Discuss Future Tech and AI Collaboration

H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, met with Chuck Robbins, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Cisco, a leading global company in information technology and networking systems. The meeting reflected Abu Dhabi’s strong commitment to developing a world-class digital economy and accelerating the use of smart technologies in all key sectors. Both leaders discussed several new opportunities to strengthen cooperation and to further build an advanced and secure digital infrastructure in the Emirate.

During the meeting, Sheikh Khaled and Chuck Robbins explored different areas for expanding collaboration between Abu Dhabi and Cisco. Their discussions focused on enhancing digital infrastructure and boosting smart transformation across vital sectors such as government services, health, education, and business. They also examined ways to leverage Cisco’s global expertise to improve data networks, cloud systems, and cybersecurity capabilities. The goal is to make Abu Dhabi one of the leading digital hubs in the region and a model of innovation-driven development.

A major focus of the meeting was the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity. Sheikh Khaled and Robbins reviewed plans to integrate AI technologies into various services to increase efficiency, reliability, and innovation. They also discussed strengthening digital protection systems to defend data and infrastructure against potential cyber threats. By enhancing cooperation with Cisco, Abu Dhabi aims to create a safer and smarter digital ecosystem that supports the government’s long-term vision for a secure and connected society.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of building specialized local talent in advanced technologies. The discussions included plans to train Emirati professionals and young innovators in fields such as AI, cloud computing, and network engineering. Cisco expressed its readiness to support Abu Dhabi’s educational and training initiatives by providing knowledge-sharing programs and technology expertise. The meeting also underlined Abu Dhabi’s broader vision of becoming a global leader in technology and innovation. Sheikh Khaled reaffirmed that digital transformation is a key pillar of the Emirate’s economic and social development strategy. By collaborating with major technology companies like Cisco, Abu Dhabi continues to attract investments and promote smart solutions that benefit both the public and private sectors.

The meeting was attended by several senior Abu Dhabi officials, including Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi; Ahmed Tamim Al Kuttab, Chairman of the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi; and Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Office of the Crown Prince. Their presence demonstrated the government’s united approach toward driving innovation and ensuring that technology remains a key part of Abu Dhabi’s sustainable growth journey.

The partnership between Abu Dhabi and Cisco represents another strong step toward creating a smart, secure, and future-ready economy. Through joint efforts in digital transformation, AI, cybersecurity, and talent development, Abu Dhabi continues to position itself as a leader in shaping the technology-driven future of the region.
