Chaos broke out in New York City’s Times Square after gunfire rang out near the intersection of West 44th Street and Seventh Avenue, sending crowds — including tourists, commuters, and World Cup visitors — scrambling for cover.
The incident occurred just hours after the New York Knicks’ championship parade, compounding fears in one of the world’s busiest tourist hubs. Videos shared online showed people running for safety amid multiple shots fired. Police responded swiftly, taking at least one suspect into custody and recovering a firearm.
