Kamchatka Russia Record Snow Children Slide 10ft Snowdrifts Emergency Declared

Kamchatka, in Russia’s Far East, has been hit by record-breaking snowfall, with snowdrifts reaching up to three meters, burying streets, buildings, and vehicles. Children have been seen sliding down apartment-sized snow mountains, while residents are forced to dig tunnels just to escape their homes.

The regional capital, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, has been effectively paralyzed. Schools remain closed, emergency services are overwhelmed, and authorities have declared a state of emergency. Roof collapses under the weight of snow have already claimed two lives, prompting massive snow removal operations to restore lifelines and access across the city.

Extreme winter weather continues to grip Russia’s Pacific coast, with Far East communities struggling to survive the meteorological catastrophe. Viral videos show surreal scenes of a winter apocalypse, capturing the scale of the snow disaster in the region.
