The historic Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a UNESCO‑listed monastery more than 1,000 years old, is undergoing repair after being severely damaged in a Russian drone attack on Kyiv. The assault set parts of the ancient complex ablaze, leaving both cultural heritage and sacred buildings scarred.
Ukrainian officials say restoration could take up to two years due to the scale of the destruction and the delicate nature of historical preservation. Local experts are already planning careful reconstruction to protect priceless religious art and architecture.
The Pechersk Lavra is one of Ukraine’s most important spiritual and historical landmarks, and its damage has drawn international concern.
