School Fire in Tokyo: Students Forced onto Ledge, Dozens Evacuated

Breaking: An emergency fire at a primary school in Tokyo forced more than 300 pupils and staff to evacuate as flames and thick black smoke poured from classroom windows.

Terrifying eyewitness video shows dozens of schoolchildren standing on a narrow window ledge as rescuers worked to get them to safety. At least 11 people were injured in the incident, according to officials, and emergency crews rushed students to safety amidst chaos. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and authorities are continuing efforts to secure the site and assess injuries.
