In Versailles, France, U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian have signed a landmark memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at ending months of conflict and reducing tensions between the United States and Iran. The signing took place during a dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron, and marks a significant diplomatic breakthrough after prolonged negotiations.
The interim peace framework is designed to extend the ceasefire, reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz, and set the stage for negotiations on nuclear issues and sanctions relief. While world leaders have welcomed the development as a major step toward stability, analysts note that the agreement remains fragile and both sides will begin further talks in the coming weeks.
