A major escalation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict has been reported after a long-range drone strike hit an oil facility in Russia’s Perm region, triggering a large fire and sending thick black smoke into the sky.
The targeted site, believed to be a strategic oil pumping station linked to Russia’s energy network, lies more than 1,500 km from Ukraine, highlighting Kyiv’s growing ability to strike deep inside Russian territory.
Officials confirmed that the attack caused significant damage, with reports suggesting multiple storage units were affected, while emergency crews rushed to contain the blaze.
This strike is part of Ukraine’s broader strategy to disrupt Russia’s oil infrastructure, which plays a crucial role in funding the ongoing war. With drone warfare intensifying and attacks reaching deeper into Russia, fears are rising that the conflict is entering a more dangerous and unpredictable phase.
