Record 307,000 Participants Join Dubai Run 2025

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

This morning, the vibrant streets of Dubai witnessed an immense gathering as 307,000 individuals participated in Dubai Run 2025. Sponsored by Mai Dubai, this event solidified its status as the world’s largest free community run, marking a significant highlight of this year’s Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC). Participants of all ages embraced the lively spirit of fitness and community.

As dawn broke, runners flocked to Sheikh Zayed Road, one of Dubai's iconic avenues. The sight of waves upon waves of people was a thrilling view. A fleet of police supercars led the start of the run, creating an exhilarating atmosphere. The iconic skyline served as a stunning backdrop for the runners traversing the city.

Families, seasoned athletes, newcomers, and casual joggers participated together, cultivating an ambiance that celebrated health and unity. Nearby towers illuminated the road with vibrant lights, enhancing the festive feel.

The run was adorned with colorful entertainment and lively performances. The starting area was decorated with UAE flags in anticipation of the Eid Al Etihad celebrations. Aerial paramotors graced the sky, providing a spectacular visual display.

Large LED puppets and percussion groups delighted those in waiting areas. Renowned DJs from UNTOLD, alongside hosts Kris Fade and Katie Overy, heightened the excitement at both start and finish lines. Marching bands, circus acts, stilt walkers, and diverse artists motivated runners along the journey, while participants were greeted at the finish with bubble arches, refreshing mists, and joyful mascots.

In line with the theme “Find Your Challenge,” runners were able to select between two distinct routes. The 5km route was suited for families and novice runners, launching from Sheikh Zayed Road and continuing through Downtown Dubai, finishing near Dubai Mall at Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard.

Conversely, the 10km route catered to seasoned participants, leading past key landmarks, including the Museum of the Future, Dubai Water Canal, and the Burj Khalifa, concluding at the renowned DIFC Gate Building.

Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, remarked on the impressive turnout as a testament to Dubai's strong communal ties. In light of the UAE's Year of Community, he emphasized that the Dubai Run exemplified unity through fitness across diverse backgrounds. Observing families and children triumphantly complete the run contributed to the event's special atmosphere.

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, underscored that Dubai Run highlighted the city’s role as a prominent global wellness hub, drawing participants from various nations in a meaningful celebration of unity and well-being.

As the DFC 2025 wraps up three major events, the finale, Dubai Yoga, is set for 30 November at Zabeel Park. This sunset gathering will unite thousands in a celebration of peace, balance, and mindfulness.

Throughout November, Dubai has provided numerous free activities via 30x30 Fitness Villages, Community Fitness Hubs, and countless exercise classes, encouraging everyone to achieve their 30-day fitness challenge.
