This Saturday, November 22, 2025, the Abu Dhabi Turf Club will host a vibrant day dedicated to horse racing enthusiasts. The highlight of the event will be the respected Pride of the Nation race, officially known as the Eid Al Etihad Cup, showcasing elegant purebred Arabian horses. This Group 3 race will stretch over 1600 meters and serves as a key event in the ongoing racing season, which features a total of seven exhilarating races. The day promises a staggering total prize pool of AED 900,000.
Slated as the fourth race of the day, the Eid Al Etihad Cup will witness 14 purebred Arabian horses, all aged four and up. With a substantial prize of AED 500,000 up for grabs, anticipation is high as fans expect an action-packed competition among elite contenders.
With a lineup of seven races, each provides a unique challenge in pursuit of winning prizes. Kicking off the day is the Saqr of Abu Dhabi Classic, a maiden race for Arabian horses aged four and over, covering 2400 meters with a prize of AED 66,000.
The second is the Path of the Federation Handicap, a handicap race also for Arabian horses of four years and older, also running 2400 meters for a prize of AED 66,000. This event focuses on endurance and strategy.
Next, we have the Bani Yas Mile, a maiden race showcasing three-year-old purebred Arabian horses over 1600 meters with a prize of AED 66,000, allowing younger talents to demonstrate their abilities.
The highlight remains the Pride of the Nation Stakes or National Day Cup, where 14 horses will compete over 1600 meters on turf, offering AED 500,000 for the champion. This anticipated event promises a thrilling spectacle.
Following this, participants will face the Wathba Stallions Cup, a handicap race for Arabian horses aged four and older, covering 1400 meters with a AED 70,000 prize, testing the horses' speed and agility.
Another exciting race is the Rising Star Maiden, where Thoroughbred horses aged three and older will race 1400 meters for a chance at AED 66,000.
Culminating the day is the Al Barq Sprint, a thrilling 1200-meter handicap race for Thoroughbreds over the age of three, featuring a prize of AED 66,000, promising an exhilarating end to the racing festivities.
The Abu Dhabi Turf Club continues to engage horse racing fans from around the region, and this year’s Eid Al Etihad Cup guarantees high-class competition, celebrating UAE's rich equestrian culture. Spectators can anticipate a full day of captivating races, displaying the strength, speed, and beauty of both purebred Arabian and Thoroughbred horses.
