Khalifa bin Tahnoon Concludes 17th Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Championship

His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, was present at the closing day of the 17th Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship. The event transpired at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City and attracted approximately 10,000 participants from more than 130 countries, underscoring the championship's evolution into a significant global sport.

During the awards ceremony, Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed acknowledged the winners in the professional black belt categories. His attendance and endorsement underscored the UAE’s dedication to fostering jiu-jitsu on both local and international stages. He commended the seamless organization of the event, which reflects the UAE leadership's vision to uplift sports and support athletes throughout the nation.

The final day garnered a gathering of several dignitaries and sports officials, including Sheikh Zayed bin Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Excellency Sheikh Suhail Bin Butti Suhail Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Sports Development Sector at the General Authority of Sports; Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum; and Sheikh Tariq Bin Faisal bin Khalid Al Qassimi.

Also in attendance was His Excellency Abdulmunem Alhashmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and a key player in many regional and global jiu-jitsu bodies; His Excellency Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation; and His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

The event also received backing from senior representatives from various national sports organizations, cultural sectors, and leading companies, including officials from the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, ADNOC, and Palms Sports. Their involvement showcased the strength of collaboration among sports entities, government, and essential partners.

The championship concluded with a celebratory atmosphere, marking another milestone for one of the premier jiu-jitsu events worldwide. The unwavering support from the UAE reinforces Abu Dhabi’s status as a global center for martial arts and a prime location for high-caliber sports competitions.
