The Phoenix Suns showcased their dominance in a resounding victory over the Indiana Pacers, defeating them 133-98 at home on Thursday night. This victory marks their fifth consecutive win and solidifies their impressive 6-1 record on home turf this season.
Star player Devin Booker led the charge with an impressive 33 points, which included a remarkable 16 points in the third quarter alone, helping the Suns secure a commanding lead.
Dillon Brooks also made significant contributions, clocking in 32 points, with 24 of those scored in the first half, establishing an early advantage for Phoenix. His aggressive style and precise shooting added to the team's momentum.
Oso Ighodaro had a standout performance, achieving a career-high of 17 points along with seven rebounds, three steals, and three blocks. Grayson Allen, who contributed 12 points, exited the game in the second quarter due to a right quad contusion sustained during a collision.
Allen, known for being the NBA's leading three-point shooter this season, will have his injury closely evaluated as he plays a vital role in the Suns' offense.
As for the Pacers, it was another challenging outing with Andrew Nembhard leading their score with 21 points and eight assists, followed closely by Pascal Siakam with 19 points and five rebounds. Unfortunately, Aaron Nesmith left the game with left knee soreness after scoring 10 points.
The Pacers are already without key players Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles), Bennedict Mathurin (toe), and Obi Toppin (foot), making it difficult for them to maintain offensive stability or defensive consistency.
With this latest defeat, the Pacers have now lost six consecutive games, three of which were by large margins: 31, 24, and 35 points. Their continuing injury woes and depth issues are significant concerns.
Taking charge with a halftime lead of 70-52, the Suns went on a staggering 38-8 run into the early fourth quarter, even scoring the first 20 points of the final period, leading 126-84 after a three-pointer by Jordan Goodwin.
Phoenix demonstrated their shooting accuracy with 57.6 percent from the field, hitting 13 of their 35 three-point attempts. Brooks was 12-for-18, Booker 12-for-22, Ighodaro 7-for-9, and Allen made five of his six attempts.
In contrast, the Pacers struggled with only 36.4 percent shooting, unable to keep pace with the Suns' swift and determined gameplay due to their depleted roster.
This high-stakes match featured several tense moments, with Brooks and T.J. McConnell both receiving double technical fouls for excessive chatting. Siakam and Royce O’Neale followed suit, receiving double technicals after a heated exchange, while Tony Bradley was penalized with a flagrant foul for a neck grab on Brooks during a rebound attempt.
