ADNOC Uses AI Smart Port System To Make UAE Ports Faster

Post by : Mumtaaz Qadiri

ADNOC Logistics and Services has announced the launch of a new AI-powered Smart Port System to improve petroleum port operations in the UAE. This is the first AI system of its kind in the GCC region, marking a major step in the use of technology in port management.

The system is designed to make port work faster, smoother, and safer. It helps manage resources, schedules, and marine activities in real-time, which allows the ports to operate more efficiently. This also helps ADNOC reduce costs and improve sustainability at its petroleum ports.

How The AI System Works

The Smart Port System, developed by Innovez One, is a port management information system (PMIS). It can handle many port operations automatically, including tracking vessels, allocating resources, and scheduling activities.

With this AI system, the time needed for certain port services has dropped drastically. Tasks that used to take three hours can now be completed in just 45 seconds. This makes port operations much faster and more reliable.

Saving Time And Money

By making operations faster, ADNOC expects to save around 3,000 hours every year. This also translates into financial savings of about $950,000 (AED 3.5 million) by 2028. The company can now use its time and resources more efficiently, benefiting both the business and its customers.

The reduction in waiting time for ships and better resource management improves port productivity and allows ADNOC to serve more vessels in the same time.

Better Use Of Port Facilities

The Smart Port System also increases jetty utilization by 20%, meaning that more ships can be handled at the same time. It improves overall vessel management by 10%, ensuring smoother operations.

With this system, ADNOC can handle more ships, reduce delays, and make better use of port infrastructure. This not only improves efficiency but also helps reduce energy use and operational costs.

CEO Speaks About Innovation

Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC L&S, said, “The smart port solution shows our commitment to AI and technology. We want to make our ports faster, safer, and more efficient while creating value for our customers.”

His statement emphasizes that ADNOC is focused on innovation and digital transformation. The company aims to be a leader in using technology to improve petroleum logistics in the UAE.

Ports Using The AI Solution

The AI system is already active in several key ADNOC petroleum ports. These include:

  • Das
  • Zirku
  • Mubaraz
  • Ruwais
  • Jebel Dhana

These ports can now track ships in real-time, manage resources efficiently, and schedule work automatically. This makes them faster and more reliable, setting a standard for other ports in the region.

Collaboration With Innovez One

David Yeo, CEO of Innovez One, said, “Working with ADNOC shows the power of AI in global energy logistics. By improving port operations, we also help ADNOC reach its sustainability goals and make UAE ports world-class.”

This collaboration highlights the role of AI and technology in making ports more efficient and environmentally friendly. It shows how companies can work together to create smart solutions.

Supporting Sustainability

The Smart Port System is not only about speed and efficiency—it also supports environmental sustainability. Faster vessel operations and better planning reduce fuel consumption, energy use, and waste.

By saving time and reducing energy use, ADNOC contributes to cleaner and greener petroleum port operations, helping the UAE achieve sustainability targets.

Benefits For Petroleum Logistics

The AI system provides many benefits for ADNOC and the energy logistics sector. It ensures operations are faster, safer, and more cost-effective.

Other companies can also learn from ADNOC’s experience, showing how technology can improve logistics, reduce costs, and save time. Smart port systems are becoming increasingly important in global shipping and petroleum management.

Continuous Technology Upgrades

ADNOC L&S is continuously adopting new technologies to improve efficiency and safety. The Smart Port System is part of a larger plan to enhance operations across all petroleum ports.

Future plans may include adding more AI features, integrating advanced analytics, and further improving scheduling, cargo handling, and workflow at all ports.

Importance Of Digital Transformation

Digital technology is key to modern port management. AI systems, data tracking, and real-time monitoring allow companies to make better decisions and manage complex operations efficiently.

ADNOC L&S shows that embracing digital transformation can save money, reduce operational risks, and improve overall productivity in petroleum logistics.

Exciting Changes For UAE Ports

The AI system represents a major change in how UAE petroleum ports operate. By reducing waiting times, improving vessel handling, and saving costs, ADNOC sets an example for ports around the world.

The success of this system proves that technology and innovation can transform port operations, making them faster, more sustainable, and globally competitive.

Leading The Way In Smart Port Operations

ADNOC L&S is leading the digital transformation of petroleum ports in the UAE with its AI Smart Port Solution. This system improves efficiency, reduces costs, increases productivity, and supports sustainability.

The collaboration with Innovez One demonstrates the power of AI to improve logistics and operations in the energy sector. ADNOC L&S is now setting a benchmark for smart port management worldwide.

The AI solution will save time, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency, making UAE petroleum ports faster, more reliable, and environmentally friendly.
