In a significant development in India’s technological arena, Meta Platforms, Inc. has acquired a 30% ownership in Reliance Industries' new AI project led by billionaire Mukesh Ambani. This initiative, named Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Ltd (REIL), was officially established on October 24, 2025, setting the stage for a collaborative effort in enterprise AI services.
The remaining 70% of REIL will be managed by Reliance through its subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence Ltd. Both organizations have pledged an initial investment of Rs 855 crore to foster the creation, marketing, and distribution of advanced AI solutions aimed at enterprise clients.
REIL is designed to enhance India’s AI landscape by offering innovative services to various businesses. This partnership leverages Reliance's extensive market knowledge and Meta's global AI proficiency and technology capabilities.
The formation of this venture does not necessitate any governmental or regulatory endorsements, indicating a smooth progression towards advancing AI initiatives within India. Experts predict that this collaboration may expedite the integration of AI in enterprises, unlocking potential in sectors ranging from data analytics to automation and cloud technology.
