A major rescue operation unfolded off the coast of Oman after a missile strike hit the Palau-flagged tanker MT Marivex, carrying 24 Indian crew members. Following an emergency alert received by MRCC Mumbai, Indian authorities worked closely with Oman’s Maritime Search and Rescue Centre to coordinate a rapid response. Omani Navy helicopters successfully evacuated all 24 crew members from the vessel, with no injuries or casualties reported.
The rescue highlights the strong maritime cooperation between India and Oman and underscores the importance of regional coordination in protecting seafarers navigating vital international shipping routes.
