A tragic air disaster has struck India. Air India flight AI171, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner bound for London, crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport, carrying 242 people on board — including 232 passengers and 10 crew members.
The aircraft lost control minutes after takeoff and crashed into the doctor’s hostel near BJ Medical College, triggering a powerful explosion and widespread fire. Over 30 people have lost their lives, and many more are reported injured.
Emergency services are at the scene, conducting intense rescue operations and providing medical aid to survivors. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and top leaders have expressed their condolences and pledged full support to rescue and relief teams.
The airport is currently shut, and all flight operations are suspended. Families are waiting in anguish for updates, as the nation mourns one of the deadliest air tragedies in recent times.
Our heartfelt condolences to all the affected families.
