Kuwait customs inspectors have foiled an attempt to smuggle alcoholic beverages inside a truck during a routine inspection at the Vegetable Market Inspection Unit operated by Al-Salmiya Customs Administration. The seizure was made by inspectors from Kuwait’s General Administration of Customs while carrying out their regular inspection duties.
During the inspection, customs officials discovered 11 bottles containing alcoholic beverages along with one bottle of beer. The items were found inside the truck as inspectors examined the vehicle at the market inspection facility. The discovery prevented the shipment from passing through the inspection process undetected.
The General Administration of Customs said the seizure was made through the vigilance, experience and dedication of its inspectors. Officials highlighted the importance of careful inspection procedures in detecting prohibited or undeclared items during routine customs operations.

Following the discovery, customs officials contacted the Customs Investigation and Search Department to handle the case. Coordination was also carried out with Kuwait’s General Administration for Narcotics Control at the Ministry of Interior.
The relevant authorities are now taking the necessary legal measures regarding the seized alcoholic beverages and the circumstances surrounding their presence inside the truck. The authorities did not provide further details about the truck driver or any potential charges in the information released.
The seizure highlights the continued role of Kuwait customs inspectors in preventing prohibited goods from entering or moving through the country. Routine inspections and coordination between customs and security authorities remain important tools in identifying suspected smuggling attempts.
The latest seizure demonstrates how customs officials can detect concealed goods through routine inspections and professional vigilance. Authorities are expected to continue taking legal action against violations in accordance with Kuwait’s applicable laws and regulations.
