On Friday evening, a vehicle plowed into the entrance of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, striking a ticket counter and injuring six people, according to airport officials.
The Wayne County Airport Authority confirmed that the driver was taken into custody. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by airport police.
Emergency responders from the WCAA Fire Department treated the injured at the scene, though their conditions have not yet been released.
Social media footage shows a blue four-door sedan stopped inside the terminal near Delta Air Lines counters, with its hood and trunk open and debris scattered across the entrance, cordoned off with police tape.
Authorities have not released the driver’s identity and are working to determine whether the incident was accidental or intentional.
