China successfully launched a Lijian-1 Y14 carrier rocket carrying eight satellites into orbit from the Dongfeng commercial space innovation pilot zone in northwest China. The rocket lifted off on June 15 at 11:44 a.m. Beijing Time and successfully placed its payload into the planned orbit.
Among the satellites onboard was Jixing Gaofen 07C04, described as a high-resolution optical remote sensing satellite. The mission marks the 14th flight of the Lijian-1 rocket series, also known as Kinetica-1, developed by CAS Space.
The successful launch highlights China’s growing commercial space capability and its increasing focus on multi-satellite launches for Earth observation and remote sensing missions.
