Two senior Christian leaders—Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa and Greek Orthodox Patriarch Theophilus—have visited Gaza following a deadly Israeli strike on the Holy Family Catholic Church in Deir al-Balah.
The attack killed three Palestinians and injured ten others, including the parish priest. The church compound was sheltering hundreds of displaced civilians when the strike occurred.
The visit was meant to show solidarity with Gaza’s Christian community, offer humanitarian aid, and call for protection of all religious sites amid the ongoing war.
Church leaders have condemned the attack and are urging global attention to the rising toll on civilians and sacred spaces.
