Courchevel French Alps Luxury Hotel Fire 270 Evacuated 5-Star Ski Resort Blaze

A dramatic fire tore through the iconic Hotel des Grandes Alpes in Courchevel 1850, one of the French Alps’ most exclusive 5-star ski resorts, on Tuesday evening. The blaze erupted in the attic around 7 PM and quickly spread to a neighboring building, forcing the evacuation of all 270 guests from the ultra-luxury property, where rooms cost up to €15,000 per night.

Firefighters battled the inferno through the hotel’s luxury corridors, working to protect priceless artworks and irreplaceable memories while ensuring guest safety amid the chaos. The dramatic nighttime evacuation tested the resort’s legendary status, highlighting the challenges of emergency response coordination and the protection of adjacent properties during such a massive Alpine fire.

Courchevel’s emergency teams executed safety protocols efficiently, but the incident left a stark reminder of how quickly flames can threaten even the world’s richest clientele in their most exclusive retreats.
