Deadly Explosion at MOL Petrochemical Plant in Hungary — 1 Killed, Several Injured

A major explosion rocked MOL Group’s petrochemical plant in Tiszaújváros, eastern Hungary, on May 22. The blast occurred during the restart of the Olefin‑1 unit, killing one worker and injuring several others as firefighters worked to contain the fire.

Emergency crews rushed injured workers to hospitals in Debrecen and Miskolc, while Hungarian authorities and MOL executives headed to the scene. An official investigation into the cause is underway.
