A deadly cloud burst in Chositi village, Indian-administered Kashmir on August 8 triggered devastating flash floods, killing at least 60 people and leaving 200 missing. Homes, vehicles, and even a community kitchen serving 200 pilgrims were swept away.

Rescue teams managed to evacuate more than 300 people, but search operations continue as families await news of their loved ones.

This marks the second major flood in Kashmir in just two weeks, raising urgent concerns about climate change, extreme weather, and rising disaster risks in the fragile Himalayan region.
