Breaking: A massive fire tore through a popular beach resort in Bayahibe, Dominican Republic, killing one tourist and forcing the evacuation of nearly 1,700 guests. Officials say high winds and the resort’s flammable palm‑thatched roofs helped the blaze spread rapidly through the complex, sending thick smoke across the area and triggering chaos as visitors fled to safety.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze and have confirmed that emergency teams continue rescue and support efforts for injured guests.
