A historic hotel building in the heart of Kyiv was damaged during one of Russia’s deadliest missile and drone attacks on the Ukrainian capital this year. The 1901 building, now operating as CityHotel Residence on Shevchenko Boulevard, caught fire as explosions rocked the city overnight. Officials said at least 30 people were killed and 92 others were injured, while rescue teams continued searching through rubble across Kyiv. The attack damaged residential buildings, public infrastructure and historic sites, leaving the city in mourning as emergency crews worked through the aftermath.
