Air travel in Iran is gradually returning to normal as Imam Khomeini International Airport resumes operations after nearly 50 days of shutdown caused by regional tensions and airspace restrictions. Authorities have confirmed that limited domestic and select international flights have restarted, with around 15 destinations now operational from Tehran.
However, operations remain partial, and several international airlines have yet to resume services, reflecting continued caution within the global aviation sector. The prolonged closure had a major impact on tourism, trade, and passenger movement, leaving thousands stranded and disrupting regional connectivity. Now, as flight boards begin to light up again, the aviation sector is showing early signs of recovery—but uncertainty still lingers.
Experts say full normalization may take time, as airlines monitor security conditions and demand patterns before restoring complete schedules. .
