Iranians Mark First Ashura Since Khamenei’s Killing In The US Iran War

Thousands gathered in Tehran on the eve of Ashura, marking the first major religious commemoration since the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Mourners carried flags, banners and images of Khamenei as Iran prepared to observe one of the most important days in the Shia calendar.

The emotional scenes reflected both religious devotion and a tense political moment for the country.
