Israeli airstrikes have struck areas near Qaraoun Dam, Lebanon’s largest water reservoir and a vital source of drinking water, irrigation, and hydroelectric power, amid escalating clashes with Hezbollah. The attacks come during one of the heaviest bombing days in weeks, with multiple strikes reported across southern and eastern Lebanon, killing dozens and injuring many more.
Lebanese officials and humanitarian groups warn that military activity near critical infrastructure poses serious risks to civilian water and energy supplies, especially as a fragile ceasefire continues to unravel. Damage near the dam could have long-term consequences for millions who depend on it for daily life. .
