Kyiv reels after Russia unleashed a massive overnight assault, including a hypersonic Oreshnik ballistic missile, striking residential areas, markets, schools and civilian infrastructure. Fires raged across multiple districts as rescue crews battled blazes and helped the injured. President Zelenskyy condemned the attack, calling it a dangerous escalation as international leaders condemn the assault.

The impact has left residents shaken and cities damaged.
