Lebanese Man Removes Israeli Flag from Beaufort Castle After Ceasefire

A powerful moment was seen in southern Lebanon after a temporary ceasefire, when a local resident climbed the historic Beaufort Castle (Qalaat al-Shaqif) and removed an Israeli flag. The act quickly went viral on social media, symbolizing resilience, return, and local pride following days of conflict.

Beaufort Castle, a 12th-century fortress located in the Nabatiyeh Governorate, has long held strategic importance overlooking southern Lebanon. The symbolic gesture sparked strong reactions online, as displaced families continue to make their way back to their villages.

Although the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon remains fragile, many residents view such scenes as a sign of hope and a step toward reclaiming normal life after war.
