A massive explosion and fire struck a high-rise in Erbil, reportedly near the US Consulate, amid ongoing Iranian airstrikes targeting northern Iraq.

In the past 24 hours, Iranian strikes have hit the Kurdish region, causing widespread destruction and killing at least six Peshmerga fighters. A US base at Erbil Airport was also attacked, heightening regional tensions.

Authorities are battling the fire and evaluating the full extent of the damage as the situation remains critical.
