Massive Fire Engulfs Kasongan Market and Homes in Central Kalimantan

A major fire swept through Kasongan Market and surrounding residential areas in Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan, on January 25, 2026.

Authorities report that between 15 and 30 buildings and kiosks, including sections of a school, were destroyed in the blaze. Firefighters and volunteers worked for several hours to bring the fire under control.

Officials have confirmed that no casualties have been reported so far. Thoughts and prayers go out to the families affected by this tragic event.
