Missile activity was reported over Tabriz, Iran, as tensions between Iran and the United States sharply escalated following renewed American airstrikes near the Strait of Hormuz.
In retaliation, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it fired missiles toward a U.S.‑linked airbase in Jordan’s al‑Azraq area, though Jordanian air defences intercepted multiple projectiles with no reported casualties.
The exchanges come amid a swirl of military strikes and counter‑strikes across the Middle East after U.S. actions targeting Iranian air defence, radar and military sites, and broader Gulf tensions involving multiple countries’ airspace and defence systems. The situation remains highly volatile, with regional allies on alert, shipping through the Strait of Hormuz disrupted, and diplomatic pressure mounting as fears of a wider conflict grow.
